Sperada applies Italian product design to the small, personal gestures of the day. Each object looks considered when it is simply sitting there, and feels balanced the moment you pick it up.

Born between water, stone and light.

Como is not just a backdrop. It shapes the way we look at things: the measured rhythm of a façade, light softening over water, carved stone against a horizon that never stays the same. We design from that balance.

Roman proportion, modernist restraint, water light: the vocabulary of the lake becomes the vocabulary of the objects.

Radiating lines, generous curves, controlled proportions, and details you only notice the second time you look. It reads contemporary, and it still owes a lot to the architecture of Como and to Italian modernism.

Materials

Colour with depth. Pattern with character.

Cellulose acetate gives every surface a depth you can see into. Light passes through translucent layers, the pattern changes from one cut to the next, and polishing brings out a smooth, substantial finish. No two pieces read exactly the same, and that is part of the point.

We work with Italian cellulose acetate, a material made from plant cellulose (cotton linters and wood pulp) instead of petroleum. It is cut from solid block, shaped and polished, so the colour is the material itself rather than a coating on top.

Plant-derived: Cellulose from cotton linters and wood pulp, not petroleum.
Solid block: Colour runs through the whole thickness, not a surface layer.
Italian supply: Acetate sheet sourced in Italy, worked close to Como.
